Bicycle

I got a new bicycle! After two years of pouting after my wonderful, albeit stolen bicycle, Enid, I’ve finally found a suitable replacement. And by I found, I mean my the lovely Smyrish and Filmstar picked it up on their trip to Smalltown over this weekend.
Not red but blue, with a white basket and shiny fenders, Ingrid is a wonderful new addition to my already crowded apartment.
Like with Enid, the brake system is simple, pedal backwards. Sometimes, this can be a hindrance, because once you hit maximum speed on the bike, all pedal resistance disappears and there’s no going faster, but I don’t need to worry about the brake lines failing, or the gears slipping the chain off when I switch them. Infact, the less bells and whistles with things, the better.
I said the same for my cell phone, I said the same for my laptop, and I said the same for my digital camera. The less shit I need to deal with, and worry about fucking up, the better.
I don’t need to spend ½ an hour riding to work in the mornings anymore, but there’s not much I like better than biking around in the summertime, alone, or partnered, with or without destination.
Also, this is another inexpensive thing to keep me from jumping out my window, and sitting in front of a screen watching TV on DVD from the library.
I already have a pretty painful bum bruise.

Anything that keeps you from jumping out of windows is fine by me.

Ingrid is pretty.
